From the melancholic "Mitternachtsberg" to the rock-like interpretation of Joy Divison's song "We walked in line". Worth mentioning is the heartfelt cover song "Runes and Men", written originally by Douglas P./Death In June. The cover by Leonard Cohen: "The Partisan" is part of 3 titles which make up the acoustic set at the end of the gig, played completely unplugged. This previously unreleased track underscores the spirit and talent of the participating musicians. Josef K. really deserved the applause he was given by the enthusiastic crowd. At this performance he was supported by Lars W. on acoustic guitar, Damiano M. on e-guitar and backing vocals, and Andrea M. on drums. J.K. then made it up by singing backing vocals on Rose Rovines' show on CD2. Oskar v. Dijk, of the Dutch Band H.E.R.R. filled the gap by playing Cello, replacing the missing violinist at Rose Rovine E Amanti's set. After a spontaneous improvised Intro: Whiskey Bar, two J. Brel covers are interpreted. The song "Anime in Fiamme" represents a tribute to the German band "Belborn", which were close friends with the Italian artist. The last title on CD2, exclusively recorded for this album, is inspired by some words uttered from Josef K. during a break in-between two tracks, He related the name of the club "Swan" to "My Dear Swan", a quote by famous Richard Wagner's' Lohengrin libretto. The fine female voice on this End Title: "Lieber Schwan" is by Fenja, matched by a brooding orchestral arrangement Von Thronstahl's. The 2 CDs deliver 104:23 min of extraordinary live material, directly taken out of the mixing desk, carefully edited and digitally mastered by Fenris W. This album fascinates with great sound quality and atmosphere, not taken for granted by live recordings in this genre. "Schwanenspiel" comes packaged in a slimline DVD case with a colour insert featuring photos from the concert, and it’s a limited-edition release of hand numbered 500 copies, all of which have been signed by Josef K. and Fenris W. from the WolfHall label. mp3 sound bites and additional information can be found at http://wolfhall.org/shtml/musik.shtml
